Hajj 2021: Saudi Kingdom Limits Hajj to Residents
By: Salimon Quadri The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has on Saturday, announced the number of pilgrims that will participate in the 1442/2021 Hajj and the start for the registration. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah limited the participants to 60,000 from its citizens and residents only to perform the pilgrimage due to the "rising COVID-19 cases". It was noted from the statements of the ministry that "those who intend to participate in Hajj need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose or have recovered from COVID-19 infection in the last 6 months." According to the Kingdom, the 60,000 pilgrims will start registration on the portal at 1pm on Sunday, 3rd Dhul Qadah, 1442 which corresponds 13th June, 2021.
